Illustration Friday - Imperfect/Infulence

Last week my husband cut some carrot up for for our 2-year-old. He put them on a plate for her in a crisscross pattern and left her to eat. He went back a few minutes later and she hadn't touched them, so he asked her if she was going to eat them. She replied, "No. That's art now".

This story made me so happy and left me thinking that perhaps my creative influence is rubbing off on her. How else would she know that anything, even food, can be a work of art?

I originally did this illustration for the topic 'Imperfect' a couple of weeks ago but I was prevented from finishing on time. How perfectly imperfect of me.

  1. what a lovely story. I hope you'll tell her when she has grown up.... Yesterday I read in my diary of the time i was 17 years and a moment later i sat on the table with my dauther and her 4 daughers.. I was amazed what time had done with me.. those beautiful granddauthers where mine...how come? Enjoy every minut with your husband and children....

And; I am an admiror of you work..... so lovely. Not only the way you draw, but also the ideas.. GREAT. And ofcourse you'll see, your children have your talents.. If it isn't drawing, then it will be that they are good in loving or good in great ideas or something like that.
