What do I do when I see something like this about to happen at my place? I hurry!
If you have a moment to spare, I would love for you to consider the following question for me. If you were choosing an illustration from my portfolio to put on a promotional postcard, which one would you choose and why? Thanks everyone, I really value your input.
The expression is perfect! Such a wonderful character as usual. Cute little dress and leggings, and wonderful soft colors.
ReplyDeleteSo hard to pick favorites from your portfolio! I think the vivid colors of the boy and pig napping in the boat would make a wonderful postcard. However, the stuffed animal doctor is so crazy adorable! (But may be the wrong size ratio for a postcard, depending on whether you put text on the front.)
I had a tie of what I'd choose: the boy doctoring the stuffed animals and the boy in the boat. They both represent to me your tender but fun whimsical style.

Great mood and detail! I love your palette, and the dreamy feeling of your illustrations.
ReplyDelete(And my two cents: Your "Bottled" illo might make a good postcard. Not only does it have great character, movement, and mood, you could easily add lines of text to the layout.)
Great work on "hurry". :)
ReplyDeleteFor your postcard i'd choose the one with a kid holding a blue teddybear (where it only appears the kid's body, with no head). First, because it id different from most illustration we are used to see, so if i'd see your postcard somewhere, it would make my head turn, even if i was passing by and not staring - because it is unusual. Second, because, like most of your work, it shows how talented you are and how beautiful you can turn the ideas into draws.
Congrats once more. :)
Great illustration! and what a great character! I do have three! fav's! The ship, the wind and the boy with the dragon under his bed. All three are very strong. With a postcard the ship one might print way too dark but if it could be brightened just a touch it would come out amazing! The wind one shows texture and movement and simple beauty. So it is difficult. I see why it is hard. I do Love your style and wish you the best with figuring it out. :D
ReplyDeleteHey Hannah, I like your drawing very much!
ReplyDeleteFor the postcard I would chose the one with the a kid in rain boots with teddy bear because it's beautiful, and I think it would look very nice when it's printed. It's graphically clean, but drawing , composition and subtle palette tells you that you are talented and skilled illustrator!
Sorry for my poor english, I hope you understood me! All the best!
Yikes! Maybe just a kiss? Cute illo! My favorite is still the boy and piggie in the boat...great colors, so sweet and fun! Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteI love the mass of curls! This is such a fun drawing :)
ReplyDeleteHi Hannah! It's a tough call. They are all so good. Have you considered ordering your cards from http://us.moo.com/? That's where I had mine made. They are pretty good quality...and you can get batches with as many images as you want in the same order. So you could use them all!
ReplyDeletePS almost forgot: I love the girl-frog illo. Maybe he will turn into a prince ;)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, we're no help! We all picked different favorites! I get cards at Moo.com too! It's great to be able to use as many images you like, up to 20 in a pack of 20! Really nice quality - a bit pricey though.
