I did this illustration some time ago and it has always been one of my favourites, so I decided to try and draw the same character again.

I've learned a lesson in doing the same character in multiple illustrations which is always paint them at the same time or at least not long after each other so that the way you did it the first time is fresh in your mind and it is easier to match colours accurately. The lights are pretty dim at our house and I can see now that I should have used a lamp as the colours aren't quite right.

  1. that’s excellent! i always struggle with colors if i have to recreate them later on... always. i think this one is pretty good.

  2. The thing about colors when recreating the same character is they don't have to be exact because they change with the position of the lighting. The colors here on these two sketches are close enough to be seen as the same. Love the sketches btw.

  3. The colors look pretty good to me. :) I think it is challenging to paint/draw the same character convincingly. Nice job!
